HN2W — Commandments of Procrastination2022

This poster series, aims to counteract the consensus of a self-optimization-focused work ethic. The antagonistic starting point for this is a piece by the Zurich artist duo Peter Fischli and David Weiss from 1991. In How To Work Better, Fischli and Weiss outlined ten rules for goal-oriented work. Inspired by workplace instructions discovered in a Thai factory, they developed a monumental typographic equivalent for the facade of a Zurich office building, which since 2016 also adorns a facade in Manhattan.
It addresses strategies of procrastination whose general familiarity highlights the subversive spirit of Fischli and Weiss, exposing the commandments of How To Work Better as an entrepreneurial ideology, despite their idealistic veneer. After all, who wouldn’t want to work better? The ten commandments for distracted and inefficient work serve as an ironic counterpoint, offering a humorous yet realistic and undistorted glimpse into the work processes of individuals with focus and motivational challenges...

This poster series aims to kinetically visualize these (non-)actions.
